Vance K. Maultsby, CPA

Vance has a wide range of accomplishments both personally and professionally which provide insight into his clients’ needs. Vance was a standout student at the University of North Texas where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with an undergraduate degree in accounting and was recognized as the Outstanding Graduate Student in the College of Business while studying for his master’s degree. He entered the accounting profession at Peat Marwick Mitchell where he made partner early in his career and was later named National Director of the Petroleum Industry Practice. While at Peat Marwick, he was a Contributing Author and Senior Editor of Income Tax of National Resources, which was considered an authoritative resource in oil and gas taxation. Vance’s experiences also include executive corporate finance roles at investment bank Stephens, Inc. and Ernst & Young. While at Ernst & Young, Vance was the Regional Director of Corporate Finance. He has also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Palex, Inc. (NASDAQ traded). The experience gained in these roles gives Vance an exceptional perspective into the issues and challenges confronting his clients. A sizable part of Vance’s practice involves the petroleum industry. Additionally, Vance provides personalized services and solutions to high net worth family groups, by addressing their complex and unique business, wealth management and philanthropic issues. When Vance is not solving complex tax matters, he is volunteering in our community. He has served as the Chairman of the Board of the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra, the Board of Directors and the Finance Committee Chair for the Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Parish Episcopal School. Vance was an Alumnus of the Leadership Dallas Program. Vance served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the University Park Firefighters Relief and Retirement Fund, the Board of Directors of Joaquin Achucarro Foundation and Co-Chair of Fostering Friendships (Episcopal Church of the Incarnation’s ministry with the Transition Resource Action Center of Central Dallas Ministries). Vance currently serves as a volunteer coordinator and in other capacities for the Uptown worship services at Incarnation. Vance is on the graduate school faculty at University of North Texas where he teaches the oil and gas taxation class. He also is on the board of advisers of the Institute of Petroleum Accounting at UNT.  He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Azure Homeowners Association. Vance is a supporter of the arts in Dallas and is an accomplished pianist.
