Steven M. Allen

Steve has been an integral part of the HM&M team since joining as an intern in 1994.  Steve received his Bachelors in Business Administration from Austin College and his Masters in Accounting from the University of North Texas.  He advanced through his career at the firm and was promoted to shareholder in January 2001.  Steve has extensive experience in federal and state income tax, as well as estate and gift tax with an emphasis on individual income and estate taxes, corporate and business taxes, mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, limited liability companies, and S-corporations. Steve has worked with privately owned businesses and high net worth individuals on complex business and individual tax planning structures and strategies for over thirty years.  Steve also has experience serving Multi-Entity Consolidated and Combined Groups, Multi-Tiered Partnerships, Family Limited Partnerships, Defective Grantor Trusts, Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts and Charitable Remainder and Lead Trusts. Steve’s clients are primarily in the real estate, construction, oil & gas, retail and food service industries.  He also works with various types of tax exempt organizations including public charities, private foundations, and charitable trusts. Steve provides in-depth personalized service and is a trusted advisor to all of his clients and a role model and mentor to the staff at HM&M.
